Resource management is changing in Visual Studio 2005/.Net 2.0, moving from a string based lookup mechanism (i.e. ResourceManager.GetString([value])) to a strongly typed system. This is a welcome change, and one I’ve been exploring recently (finally getting around to learning VS2005 and all of the new features). I’ve written a short, high level article about the new resource management changes, so have a look and let me know what you think!

Just wanted to consolidate my four posts on my VS.NET 2005 installation woes into one. Finally got the bits for Beta 1 of VS.NET 2005, and about 20 minutes into the install I get the following error: --------------------------- Visual Studio 2005 Beta Setup --------------------------- Error 1311.Source file not found: z:\vs\_13245_NETCF2_Debugger.msm.cab. I finally finished downloading the beta bits late last night (5 large ISO files), and needless to say, the installation was less than trouble free. Unintuitively (and through a bit of trial and error), I realized that you have to unpack the ISO's into 2 seperate directories: 1 directory for the 2 VS.NET ISO's, and another one for the 3 MSDN library ISO's. The installer doesn't prompt to “insert” (in my case, mount via ISO mounter) the seperate discs, and I got errors that it couldn't...
