• "Rome" Is Off To A Fantastic Start

"Rome" on HBO (stateside at least) was one of the sleeper hits from summer of '05... the wiki is pretty interesting . The season premier for season 2 aired this past weekend, and it seems to be off to a fantastic start. Unfortunately due to production costs, this will be the final season. Bummer. Generally speaking I don't get into characters from TV shows too much, but wow do I feel for Vorenus . Marc Antony is shaping up to be a force to be reckoned with as well. Eagerly anticipating episodes to...
• Casino Royale -- Fantastic Flick

I managed to catch a showing of Casino Royale over the weekend...it was excellent . The Wiki sums up a lot of my feelings about the picture...IMO it's a great movie that just happens to be a Bond flick. No deluge of cheesy one-liners or over the top special effects, the action sequences are as raw as they are physical...in short Craig's take on the Bond character is the best I've seen yet. The movie itself is engrossing and captivating, again not just some razzle dazzle light show attempting to woo...
• Ok I'll Admit It

I’ve posted before that I’m not really a huge fan of TV, but now that I’m working from home I’m trying to get myself on somewhat of a routine to avoid the burnout factor…part of that is unwinding with a little bit of the boob tube in the evenings. Unfortunately I recently discovered Deal Or No Deal and, even more unfortunately, I’m hooked (I’d like to say I just watch it for the 26 models, but the game itself is what keeps me coming back). And I don’t...

• Keeping It In The Family

“You woke up this morning, Got yourself a gun…” Most US readers should get this reference. The final season begins tonight. It’s about damn time. Sidenote: Lots of froo-froo posts this week…it’s just been one of those weeks where I’ve had some stuff to post about, but just haven’t felt like it. My //TOBLOG list is getting quite long though, hopefully I’ll catch up soon! Share this post:

• Real Life Simpsons Intro

I am not a big fan of most news shows (that’s what the internet is for). I do watch one nightly telecast on a fairly regular basis though, Countdown with Keith Olbermann ( wiki ) as it’s one of the few news shows I can actually stomach. The show is slanted to the left, and he’s most notably known for his ongoing feud with Bill O’Reilly (who I’m not even going to dignify with a link…if you’re American, you know this jackass). Last night he showed a really...

• Getting Geared Up for Winter TV

I don’t watch a ton of TV, but this Winter is already looking pretty good TV-wise (and as it’s looking to be an especially bad Winter over here on the East coast, that’s a good thing). In case anyone is interested, here’s what I’ll be tuning in to: Scrubs . Finally after a long hiatus, my favorite show is returning to the air waves starting January 3rd. Dirty Jobs . New episodes start on January 10th. Mike Rowe is my hero, and is an extremely funny guy. From his bio...

• Rome Premiers Tonight on HBO

Rome is premiering tonight on HBO @ 9EST. From the trailers I’ve seen, it looks very promising (if not a little too gladiator-esque). Here’s to hoping it’s a keeper. Share this post:

• Download Page Up and Running

There is a new tab on my site called Downloads (thanks in no small part to this guy’s work…check out his downloads page for more nifty CS mods). For now the ability to right click/save as is disabled to prevent hot linking…I will be working on some sort of solution to enable this in the future (without the need to register on the site). RSS folks will have to wait a bit, though I will most definitely be getting an RSS feed set up for this page shortly. I will also be working on some sort of file...
• Howard Stern OnDemand

Howard Stern OnDemand is coming (I predicted he’d get his own uncensored TV spot around the time he moves to Sirius). This oughta be great! I can’t wait to see what he comes up with now that he’s free of the FCC. Share this post:
• The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou -- Great Movie

I picked up “ The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou ” and watched it this weekend…what a great flick! Wes Anderson has done it again, and I’m proud to shelve this movie next to one of his other great titles, “ The Royal Tenenbaums ”. The movies are eerily similar in the way they’re shot (lots of symmetry/etc), and it’s the same kind of dry witty humor that made Tenenbaum’s so great…and the all star cast definitely lends itself well. Bill...
