• JK.com -- Feedburner Pro Enabled

I posted a while back about the Feedburner MyBrand service ...I've been taking it for a spin on some other low traffic feeds and am nothing less than blown away, so JK.com is now Feedburner enabled and ready to rock. Community Server 2007 has built in support for Feedburner out of the box; it's as simple as plugging values into a couple of textboxes, flipping a switch or two, and blammo...syndication feeds are burnerized. What that all means is that the transition should be seamless for existing...
• JaysonKnight.com Upgraded To Community Server 2007

JaysonKnight.com has been upgraded to Community Server 2007...if you're used to seeing this content in an aggregator, have a look around the new site . I still have a few kinks to iron out, but overall I'm very happy with the new themes included in CS. Is is the usual for me, I'll be going with stock CS themes that will evolve over time as I get around to making customizations. New to V 4.0 of JK.com: Clean clean clean. Did I mention it's much cleaner? Simplicity is elegance, so that's...
• Feedburner MyBrand Service -- Brand Your Feedburner Feed

I've had a Feedburner account for a while now, but have been reluctant to throw the switch on my site's feeds over to it...while I may not have a huge circulation (and therefore no "brand" to adhere to), I'd like to keep what little recognition I do have in my feed address instead of the generic feedburner.com/whatever, i.e. my name (or in the case of clients, their company name, etc). Feedburner now offers a pretty impressive array of services, so I was in the process of giving in and started to...
• Comments Temporarily Disabled On JK.com

Comments will be temporarily disabled on JK.com due to some database issues (meaning I messed something up and am in dire need of a db restore...working with my hosting company even as I type this). I also will be moving my site to a new server within the next day or so, site uptime will be affected so apologies in advance. Share this post:

• Some Site Issues -- Working On Them

I recently discovered that comment posting to both my photos and download sections are throwing exceptions. My weblog appears to be unaffected, however should anyone get an error attempting to post a comment, please contact me immediately with a copy of the stack trace which is displayed. I don't have an ETA at this time, but traffic to both of those sections is minimal so it's not a huge deal. On a somewhat humorous note, CS is blocking almost 1,000 blog spams a day on my site. A thousand! Geez...

• Add A Nice Touch To Your Site -- Snap Preview

A couple of folks in the Community Server have posted about a nifty offering from the folks over at Snap.com : Snap Preview Everywhere . It's a little gimmicky, but adds a nice touch to existing websites via just a couple of lines of javascript added to your header. I only have 2 complaints (if you can even call them that): I wish there was an option to specify the dimensions of the snap preview window (it's tiny on my 1600x1200 monitor), and an option to open links to external sites in a new window...
• Taking Care Of Some Site Housekeeping

Earlier this evening I decided to take care of some long overdue site cleaning, as well as finally implementing some Hidden Network ads that Alex oh so graciously has bestowed upon me (Phil does a better job of summing up the new offering than I can). For now I just have a short stack underneath my tag cloud, but over the coming days I will implement the whole shebang, i.e. the job board, better integrated ads, etc. Initially they will be complimentary to my existing ad scheme until I get it all...

• Comment Issue Solved

After some serious hunting around, the comment issue has been solved on JK.com...a misbehaving httpHandler was the culprit (name omitted to protect the guilty. Comment away. Share this post:

• Comments Not Working On Portions Of JK.com

I am aware of the issue, thanks to all who have reported it. That error has been cropping up in other areas of my site for a while now, however they are non-critical and thus I didn't take the time to track them down. Now that this is affecting core portions of my site I'll be burning the midnight oil to get it cleaned up. Bear with me. Share this post:

• Community Server 2.1 Service Pack 1 Released

As was announced over in the CS.org forums yesterday , Telligent has released Service Pack 1 for CS 2.1. A list of fixes/enhancements as well as download and installation instructions is located here (you can choose to only download the SP itself, or an complete installation of CS2.1 with SP1 included). I have updated most of my sites (including this one) with no issues. Of course if you've modified any of the core CS code you'll need to run a diff on those files and download the SP1 SDK so you can...
