• Some Site Issues -- Working On Them

  I recently discovered that comment posting to both my photos and download sections are throwing exceptions. My weblog appears to be unaffected, however should anyone get an error attempting to post a comment, please contact me immediately with a copy of the stack trace which is displayed. I don't have an ETA at this time, but traffic to both of those sections is minimal so it's not a huge deal. On a somewhat humorous note, CS is blocking almost 1,000 blog spams a day on my site. • Comments Not Working On Portions Of JK.com

  I am aware of the issue, thanks to all who have reported it. That error has been cropping up in other areas of my site for a while now, however they are non-critical and thus I didn't take the time to track them down. Now that this is affecting core portions of my site I'll be burning the midnight oil to get it cleaned up. Bear with me. • New Form Of Blog Spam?

  I've noticed a new (well, new to my site at least) form of blog spam trickling in here on JK.com; the spammer leaves a comment that is simply a duplicate of the post up to a certain amount of words, and the only link back to their site is in the "From" box, so for example if Google were to spam this post, it would look like: Google said: I've noticed a new (well, new to my site at least) form of blog spam trickling in here on JK.com; the spammer leaves a comment that is simply a duplicate... • Moving Is Such A Pain In The Ass

  [update]Done. Done. And done. Details to follow.[/update] Not “moving” moving, but moving my site to a different host. Yes it’s true…JK.com was down for a full 24 hours starting at around 3PM on Sunday (apologies to the 3 regular visitors I have). I’m in the process of moving my site over to aspnix , and it hasn’t been as painless as I thought it would be…no doubt due to the number of mods I’ve made to my site. • When Antivirus Software Gets a Little Out of Control

  Anyone who has visited this site within the last couple of days probably was greeted with a wonderful .Net runtime exception (Sql Server timeouts). It has taken me a couple of days to track down the issue with the virtual machine this site runs on, but I think I finally nailed it. The symptoms were strange though, and given that I’m much better at debugging code over troubleshooting server issues, it probably took me longer than it should have. • I Can't Take It Anymore -- Trackbacks Are Now Disabled

  I swore I wouldn’t disable trackbacks, but I’ve received 300+ today alone. Deleting them one by one takes around an hour and I just can’t justify the time, plus it makes my fingers hurt to do all that clicking. So, trackbacks are now disabled until I upgrade to Community Server 2.0 sometime in February (it’s not like I don’t have other ways of seeing who’s linking to this site, and it’s not like I got a ton of legitimate trackbacks anyways), which has a totally... • Strange Comment Spam

  I’ve started getting a whole slew of new comment spam…problem is, I don’t really understand what the spamees are attempting to accomplish as they aren’t linking back to anything. Here are a few instances: link , link , link , link , link (ad nauseam)…there have been about 20 of these in the past day or so. What’s the point of spamming if you’re not going to link back to anything? Very annoying. Anyways, have a great labor day everyone!
