Paint.Net 3.0 was released a couple of days ago, snag it while it's hot. It's good enough (for a non-professional designer) that I haven't found the need to install Photoshop on my rebuilt machine. In fact, I'm 100% Adobe free, meaning my machine is free of: Photoshop, Reader (replaced by Foxit ), and Flash. I consider both Flash and Reader annoying enough at this point to be considered malware. I'm also Quicktime free, which in my opinion is about half a notch above Real Player in terms of A) actual...

I installed Office 2007 Enterprise over the weekend (it's available via MSDN, and other places if you know where to look); I've been using 2007 since some of the early betas and as is the usual case the RTM is faster, leaner, more polished, etc. Getting it installed was a little cumbersome though...I was greeted numerous times with a "cannot upgrade from a pre-release version" even after I thought I had uninstalled all prior bits. [Update]: My hosting company directed me to this link on the ICANN site concerning the changes. I received an email today from the company I use for domain name hosting regarding some changes to domain name transfers by ICANN . From the email: ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) has changed the domain name transfer policy for all accredited domain name service providers. We are concerned that this policy change puts your domain name at greater risk for being "slammed"...

This is my first post via BlogJet (huge ups to James Avery for the recommendation). The interface to this app is in stark contrast to VisualBlogger (see previous post) in that it's pretty simple and straightforward; very intuitive. I am not looking forward to paying 20 bucks for it though. The main selling points are that it supports cross-posting, and is just as simple to configure.
