Via Ars Technica ( full post here ): Microsoft wants to help aid in the development of Firefox. It sounds pretty scary, doesn't it? Prefacing this with “not trying to get into my browser is better than yours” conversation. That being said, there have been 44 known security issues in Firefox since the 1.0 release back in November. I don’t have the IE (or any other software) numbers in front of me, but my initial guess is that this is pretty on-par for commercial grade software (if anyone has comparable numbers, please share). So what is the point of this post then? Proprietary or open source, paid developers...

Mike found a great tool from Netcraft and has posted about it here (even better news is that it’s available for Firefox). At the very least it provides a mechanism to perform reverse DNS lookups on sites (and look at info harvested on said site by Netcraft), and at the very most it’s a great tool for phishing attack avoidance.
