BlogMailr Is Now Live!

Via Ken Robertson (aka the man behind BlogMailr):

Yes, BlogMailr is now live!  Check it out for yourself at blogmailr.com.

So what is BlogMailr?  It is an email-to-blog service for everybody.  No matter what your software is, where it is hosted, or if your software supports it out of the box.  If your blog supports posting tools like Windows Live Writer or BlogJet, BlogMailr will work for you.  Enter in a little bit of information, such as where your site is, and the username/password, and it will automatically detect all of the necessary settings.  You’re then good to go.  No software to install, just use what you probably already know inside and out (your email client).

Blogging via email is hardly revolutionary, but I've yet to see a website that makes it so easy to post to virtually any blogging platform out there...and it's free!  I personally will not be using it too much seeing that MS Word puts so much crappy markup into documents; I've already put in a request to allow BlogMailr users to specify a list of tags to strip/replace/etc as they come through the service, but no guarantees that something like that will ever be implemented.  For casual (non-power) users, this lowers the entry bar into blogging, plus it opens up mobile blogging for us CS folks.  Head on over and give it a shot!

About Jayson Knight

Jayson Knight was clueless to the computer programming world until he took a C++ class in college. The rest is proverbial history. He has been building applications targeting the .Net framework for 7 years, focusing mainly on internet technologies and database driven web application development.

Most recently he left the world of Corporate IT to finish up his degree in Chemistry, with an eye on Medical School and an Anesthesiology residency program. Read this post for more information.

He is also a Community Server MVP: Community Server is the software that runs this site, plus many others on the web. For more information, check out http://csmvps.com.

When he finds time to pry himself away from his computer and university studies, he can be found on the mountain bike trails when it's warm, and on the ski slopes when it's cold.
