Forty Days And Forty Nights...All In About An Hour

Anyone who lives in the Georgia/South Carolina/North Carolina regions of the U.S. no doubt know that we got absolutely hammered Saturday night by storms (Charlotte was especially hard hit, as was the Raleigh area).  I’ve seen some storms in my life, but nothing like this…I don’t have the exact stats but it rained harder than I’ve ever seen for an hour straight (hence the title of this post) along with non-stop lightening (several trees in the immediate area got struck) and whatnot.

It was pretty cool (to watch at least) actually until about 10:00 pm when my power flickered (thus rebooting my entire network…not a big deal compared to what happened next), but apparently one of the local ISPs (well, the one I use at least) main transformers blew at the same time thus leaving me (and the rest of my area) without internet for over 24 hours.  Yes, I’ve been sans internet and cable for over a day, just now got hooked back up.  And was losing my mind!

I guess it could have been worse, I could have lost power as well, but losing internet is just as bad IMO.  What a storm.
