Upgrading to Community Server 2.1 -- Excuse The Mess

While I was going to hold off on updating JK.com to CS2.1 when it RTM’d, I’ve changed my mind.  There are enough compelling new features in 2.1 to make the move with the latest beta 1 drop worth while, including:

  • Full support for running on ASP.NET 2.0 out of the box (no more medium trust issues).
  • CSS has been cleaned up to the point where I can make my site look decent on lower resolution systems (without having to ditch adsense; the ads make my site look horrible on anything below x1152).
  • Blog Mirroring is a must have feature.
  • Tagging.
  • SEO features.
  • Mo’ Betta control panel.
  • Some other stuff I’m too lazy to type out.

I plan on making the move tomorrow, so my site will more than likely be down during this time.  Yay, gotta love upgrading! *ZzZzZzZ*
