Moving Is Such A Pain In The Ass

[update]Done. Done. And done. Details to follow.[/update]

Not “moving” moving, but moving my site to a different host.  Yes it’s true…JK.com was down for a full 24 hours starting at around 3PM on Sunday (apologies to the 3 regular visitors I have).  I’m in the process of moving my site over to aspnix, and it hasn’t been as painless as I thought it would be…no doubt due to the number of mods I’ve made to my site.  Apparently my CS installation doesn’t play nice with asp.net 2.0 (though default installations work perfectly) due to medium trust issues, so I’ll have to recompile for 1.1 and hope for the best.  At this point I’m still sitting on my home server, but will be having another stab at it later on this evening.  Aside from the issues with my site, I’m quite impressed with aspnix…once I get my site humming on their servers I’ll post more about their offerings.

Hello,
I have a shared hosting from aspnix.com and it's great. Especially the speed of transfering and page load. I like it and I want to apply for a VPS with keyvan but unfortunately VPS server does not availabe in this week.

I couldn't BELIEVE jaysonknight.com/blog was offline the last couple of days.  COULD...NOT...BELIEVE IT!  Thanks for the explanation.  My world is spinning normally again.

Man, migrating to a new host is SUCH a pain.  Your email services were migrated, too, I suspect?  That's a pain, too.

I want to make sure I understand what you wrote here, that you're running CS 2.0 on .NET 1.1????  Things are getting blurry.  I'm feeling faint...

It was down on sunday? Ahh, that's why I never noticed!

1.1? Heathen!  Good luck with the rest of the move :)

As Mehrdad said and I'd said it before on WLM, we're coming there ;-)

In recent weeks my uptime was terrible (95%). Today when I arrived to home, my website was down for about 9 hours :-(
ASPnix is going to be one of top most ASP.NET hosters. Price, support and quality are great.
I hope that they provide new VPS accounts soon because I'm missing many visitors per day!

Things were dark here at Nayyeri.NET in recent weeks.  In last three months my traffic has grown...

I understand your pain. I'm looking to move all of my php sites soon to a dedicated Linux box. Luckily my .net sites are already on a ded windows box. I use ActiveServe and its pretty good.

I definitely hear what you're talking about when it comes to moving your site to a new server.

Oh, and make that four regular readers.

;)
