MTV is throwing a launch party for XBox Next (or NextBox as I like to call it):
May 12th, the date on which the Ourcolony.net viral marketing scheme site is counting down to, marks the global unveiling of the Xbox Next, live on MTV. Elijah Wood will present the half-hour segment that'll be jam packed with celebs gushing over the console, and even a special performance by Killers.
I believe the “official” date for NextBox’s release is sometime in mid August, with Halo3 slated sometime around the holidays (and it’s been speculated that Halo3 will be released the same day that Sony launches their PlayStation3 console). I initially was kind of disappointed with Halo2 (extremely weak ending, kind of repetitive gameplay) until I fired it up on XBoxLive…that’s where the action’s at; incredible gameplay, especially in the team games. NextBox is gonna be a pretty intense piece of hardware, can’t wait!
