A conduit to the voices in my head
By this point everyone knows that Internet Explorer leaks like a sieve when it comes to letting spyware through. I purposely ran a Spybot scan just before installing Firefox about a month ago to get the junk out before embarking on my nearly month long Firefox journey (review and commentary will be up in a couple of days). I ran a Spybot scan just now, and guess what? No spyware whatsoever. Zip, zilch, nada. I've rarely had a clean scan. Period. Of course I'm a little more cautious than the average user when it comes to installing 3rd party software on my machine (read, I almost never do)...but monthly scans when I used IE as my primary browser yielded in the arena of a dozen or so critters. This really doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out, one way to alleviate spyware issues is to ditch IE. Firefox continues to amaze even myself...I was quite skeptical going in. More to come shortly. In the meantime, do yourself a favor and get Firefoxed up!

About Jayson Knight
Jayson Knight was clueless to the computer programming world until he took a C++ class in college. The rest is proverbial history. He has been building applications targeting the .Net framework for 7 years, focusing mainly on internet technologies and database driven web application development.
Most recently he left the world of Corporate IT to finish up his degree in Chemistry, with an eye on Medical School and an Anesthesiology residency program. Read this post for more information.
He is also a Community Server MVP: Community Server is the software that runs this site, plus many others on the web. For more information, check out http://csmvps.com.
When he finds time to pry himself away from his computer and university studies, he can be found on the mountain bike trails when it's warm, and on the ski slopes when it's cold.
