as stated in a previous post, i was pretty much sick of my old blog's interface, as well as the lack of power for it to do what i want. i could have written what i need (perhaps), but got turned on to .Text, which is what my blog is running on now. plus i just don't have that kind of time right now. next on my todo list is to write a component that will let me blog from either site and have it post to both (though eventually i am sure i will go 100% .Text), my first take on it is pretty positive though. just the text editor alone is worth the pain of getting it all set up. all in all, took around 30 minutes to figure everything out, and i've read that it definitely could have been worse (thank god i have all my own servers in house).
2 things to note for a successful deployment: The blog stats component doesn't track correctly out of the box. there is a remedy here (it's a trigger that needs to be put on one of the tables in SQL Server). If you want full access to the source code for customization, make sure you check out this page as well, there is an issue w/ one of the .csproj files. i also am having formatting issues with the RSS piece, but it's probably content related and something i will need to track down. worst case i can roll my own.
other than that, i am quite pleased thusfar...it's a pretty damn fine piece of software and certainly eclipses the pathetic blog i was on before.
happy blogging :-)
